32. BEAUTY: Wash UR Face (Aka. Skincare Routine)

Looking through my last blog posts I literally had a horrible realisation that I hadn't used my own photos for a good few weeks! How lazy of me.. but a lot of my recent content I struggled with images.. so turning a new leaf I have a few images for you in this post!

Moving on, this week I thought I would enlighten you all with my skincare routine. My mum has always drilled into me the importance of your skin and a good skincare routine, and after a few years I have developed a skin care routine that has become a bit of a nightly ritual! Liz Earle is usually my go to brand for my skin but I do use a variety of products as you will see!

Okay so firstly I use the well-blogged Miscellar Water by Garnier (Sorry the bottle is in french as I ran out whilst in Paris.. whoops!) This is FAB and so much better than using a make up wipe, gets all the make up off, nice and simple. I only use this on my eye make up but could be used all over to get all of your face make up off.

For my face make up, I either use Liz Earle but recently I've been using Temple Spa Cleansing Lotion. This lotion is quite thick, which I use all over my face and clean off with an Liz Earle muslim cloth and hot water. I often do this a couple of times to make sure that I have got all of my make up off. This is such a nice feeling, letting your skin breathe and what not!

After I have done this, I use Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic but I have used a variety of toners and they have all been really good. I know I sound a little obsessive but I use it to ensure that all the dirt from my face has gone. The tonic is really soothing and like it says on the bottle, leave you with 'radiant skin.'

Lastly, and only recently, I have been using the Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser. I have to admit that I got this little pot of moisturiser with a perfume my mum brought me but I actually love it and would definitely buy it again. I always use it before bed as it gives me skin so much moisture, but it also smells beautiful with cranberry and rosehip oil seeds. Mmmm.

This may sound a little long winded but once you get into it, it becomes a habit and I think now I do this all in under five minutes. As well as these products, I thought I would talk about two other products that I use on my face from time to time.

Firstly, if I am not wearing any make up (naturally I don't leave the house) I like to give my skin a bit of an up lift with the Rosewood Reviving Mist which I have already reviewed in another blog post (click here!) However, when my skin needs a proper pamper, I always turn to the Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. This is a really thick face mask, which I can't lie does smell a little bit 'earthy' to say the least, but makes my face feel so refreshed. I often leave this on for about 20 minutes while I have a bath and then wash it off with some hot water.

So, no excuses for bad skin! What are your go to products?

  1. I get where you're coming from about a process seeing longwinded to others, but second nature to the person using the products - my routine seems the same way! Also, is it weird that the 'Earthy' smell of the Lush face mask is totally appealing for me haha?!

  2. I love skin care posts and reading what others find work for them. I haven't tried anything yet from Liz Earle but have been wanting to try their products for a while now. My skin is crazy sensitive so I have to be very careful what I use. I personally really love Ren, especially the global protection day cream. And I have to use Argan Oil every night, it's great for my fine lines. Anti ageing skin care is too harsh for me and gives me terrible reactions so I need a good oil. Taking care of your skin really is so important. Wish I had done more when I was younger. Katie xx

    1. Definitely go in and speak to someone behind the Liz Earle counter as I am quite sure they do some products for sensitive skin! I am yet to use Ren but will give it a try! Thanks for reading Katie!
