Six things that will get you into the Christmas Spirit

__________

I usually love Christmas. It is such a lovely time of year, but I am just not feeling it. I think that it boils down to a number of reasons including; this is the first time I am working over Christmas, my brother is doing a ski season so isn't around and I am also planning the work Christmas party. Never a good combo. So in order to get myself and my lovely readers in the Christmas mood, I thought I would list a few things to get yourself excited and ready to count down until the big day...

- Hot Christmas drinks, what more do I need to say? I do love most hot drinks, but my favourite one that always gets me in the Christmas mood is a Gingerbread latte mmmmmm... I feel warm thinking about it

- A fire and a good book; these can also be enjoyed separately. I just really love curling in front of a warm fire with a book, which doesn't have to be about Christmas may I add, especially when the weather is horrible outside!

- Christmas cards are not the most exciting of things but I always love writing them. Settle down in front of the fire and get going [this will also save you a massive job before the Christmas rush!]

- Harry Potter and the.. [well just all the films really.] I am a massive HP fan and every Christmas I begin to watch them and get into that Christmas mood, I think its the singing and the snow and the magic of it all. I am lagging a bit behind this year I must say!

- Christmas socks are definitely a must at Christmas. I personally have a pair of Percy pig Christmas socks, and they are fabulous if I say so myself.

- Mulled gin, yup you heard me. Long gone are the days of mulled wine since I tried cranberry and blood orange warm gin. I am definitely going to try and create it because it was so lovely and just what you need on a cold day!

- Singing until your heart is content. An odd one but I always find belting out a Christmas tune now and again is a great way to get that holiday feeling - my family and friends don't seem quite as keen!

P.s I am hoping you have already put your Christmas decorations up, so I didn't include this one... if you haven't, get going!

  4. I don't celebrate Christmas but I do love this time of year. You notice the shift in attitude from people, they seem a lot happier. I've been visiting the Christmas Markets for the food and drink (obvs) and been watching all the Crimbo movies!
