Did I do it?

__________

I always think New Year  is a great time to reflect on everything that has happened in 2016 - and my oh my hasn't a lot happened! I started the year with some very clear goals, [check out my 2016 New Year resolution post here]. Some have been easy and some have been super hard - Actually looking back, most of them have been pretty hard but that's part of the fun right?

So did I do it? The quick answer is yes and no, but here is the long answer. My first goal of giving up sugar started well, but slowly throughout the year, I must admit, I have slipped. However, I have learnt a lot from going through this process, particularly how much sugar is in things and just generally being more aware. Also I have definitely cut my consumption down - does anyone have any tips on cutting it completely?

One of my biggest achievements this year has been getting my job, and not just any job, a job I enjoy [most of the time!!] I started the year a little bit down hearted with the whole job search but it just proved to me that good things are worth waiting for! On the other end of the spectrum, unfortunately I haven't managed to complete another half marathon, I just keep putting it off but it is something that I definitely want to do some day!

This year, I am trying to have a different approach to 2017, I am not setting any resolutions but going to grab life by the [insert word] and take as many opportunities as I can. Because at the end of the day, everything will always work out, so what's to lose?

Sorry for the late post, I saw in the New Year in Rome so couldn't get it up before [there will be a post about my New Year in Rome coming soon, so keep a look out!]

... And of course, Happy New Year!

  1. Your approach to 2017 sounds perfectly balanced - only good things can come from taking as many opportunities as you can, and you're 100% right about everything always working out for the best in the end :)

  2. Happy new year, darling! I hope that 2017 is the best one yet. :) 2016 was such a roller-coaster for me (and for a lot of people too, I think), and quite honestly, I'm quite happy to finally leave it behind. 2017 is a fresh start and I can't wait to see what the next twelve months have in store for us. :) <3 xoxo

  3. Congrats on meeting some of your goals! I only met a few of my own. I don't have any tips on cutting out sugar though as that's SO hard, it's in everything, but you seem to be getting a good handle on it it seems! Well done!

  6. Congratulations on your job! That's definitely a huge achievement to reach, even if you weren't able to complete all your goals, its the making the effort that counts! I certainly wouldn't have even tried to give up sugar!

  9. Happy New Year to you and wishing you a fabulous 2017! I feel you about the job, I was really worried about my job prospect in Canada but I'm lucky to land a job which I truly love. Yes, it's a part time job but I love that it's stress-free.
